Mar y Sol was designed so that every room has
a view of the Caribbean Ocean.
First walking in to this spacious villa you
arrive in the Great Room, a large open space
that houses the kitchen, living and dinning
room with exquisite ocean views.
The
kitchen is a spotless white with blue and yellow
accents. It is well equipped with a large
frost-free refrigerator, a six burner gas range
with oven, a microwave, a double sink with a
French faucet/sprayer, lighted glass front cabinets,
pantry storage and work table, purified water,
and an ultrasonic washing machine.
The
living area is furnished with the finest quality
hand built rattan/wicker furniture with colorful
Mexican fabric on the plush cushions. The
floors are hand made non-skid Mexican terra
cotta tiles. The carpet is hand made Mexican
cocoa matte fiber.
The
dining area is a large circle of Italian marble
that will seat up to eight with a panoramic
view of Tankah bay and the reef with the ocean
beyond.
A
powder room/guest half bath is conveniently
located off the living area in the hall.
The
villa has two huge private bedrooms at opposite
ends separated by the great room. Both bedrooms
have a large private bath and shower. Large walk-in closets
and armoires. Both bedrooms have king
beds with thick double pillow top mattresses.
Both rooms have a large
picture window and two double sliders opening
directly onto the terrace and beach. The
view is extraordinary.
The villa fronts on 25 M. (82.5 feet)
white sand shoreline.

The
house is constructed to take advantage
of the natural unpolluted sea breeze always
coming off the water. A large overhanging
ceiling above the front terrace keeps
the sun from shining into the house yet
allows the air to constantly refresh the
inside. There is thick foam insulation
in the ceiling so the hot sun does not
"bake" the house. On the
beachside there are eight glass sliding
doors and four crank out windows providing
maximum air passage and giving every room
a spectacular ocean view. All the
doors and windows have automobile quality
tinted glass to thwart the sun and to
give you privacy from viewers strolling
the beach. Finally, if the sea breeze
is not enough there are six ceiling fans
and a portable fan for your comfort.

Palapa
A very large thatched palapa that seats
eight with native Mayan furnishings is
a wonderful spot to get out of the blazing
sun and read a book. The natural breeze
is concentrated in this spot because of
the house and rock wall. There is a regular
lie-down hammock and two hammock chairs
for lounging on the terrace. There are
five market umbrellas for shade while
you lounge on the custom-made cedar chaise
lounges. There are a couple ceramic
mosaic tile tables for your drinks and
suntan lotion.
